 An athame or athamé is a ceremonial double-edged dagger, one of several magical tools used in
neo-pagan religions and various Witchcraft traditions. An athame can take many forms. It frequently has a double-edged
 blade with a sharp point, and a handle which is often black. The handle may be inscribed with particular symbols
dictated by the tradition and it s never used for cutting, only to direct energy.

Goddess Athame

This ornate athame presents an appearance that appears delicate and graceful, leaving you somewhat surprised when you first pick it up and feel its solid weight. The plastic sheaf is wrapped in ornaments crafted from stainless steel, depicting ornate scroll work near its top and the bottom decorated with the graceful image of a winged goddess; making it the perfect companion to the athame.

The athames has an ornate hilt, with a sweeping crossguard that curls in on itself with a design elaborate enough to match the scrollwork and engravings that imbue its metal. Beneath this hand guard is an elaborate hilt, crafted to display beautiful goddesses in a manner fit for the Italian Renaissance, with a texture that is comfortable and non-slip. From this extends a straight, double-edged blade ending in a tapered point.

Hecate's Winged Athame

This athame is a marvelous piece to add to the mystery of your ritual and worship. With a black, 3 " handle carved of wood and metal to comfortably fit the curve of your palm, it presents a 4 " blade, finely crafted of stainless steel. Flaring out at the base into a curved cross guard, often referred to as wings, it is decorated with the upturned moon and pentagram that are viewed as a symbol for Hecate, the goddess of magick, the underworld, and crossroads. Often known as the crone goddess, or otherwise seen as a potent force in mystery and magick, her symbol and blessing upon this athame make it a potent addition to your rituals. This highly ornate athame is decorated with a faux brass hilt, as well as a faux brass sheath. Both the handle and the sheath are decorated with intricate patterns of knot-work and leaves, presenting a more elegant appearance than most bladed tools. The sheath also comes adorned with a long, braided red tassel, in a style similar to many other eastern blades, that can be used to fasten it to a belt. The blade itself measures approximately 5 1/2", and is etched with the winding form of an oriental dragon.
