Antique Library Collection

This wonderful new book collection is what we are calling the Antique Library Collection. It features Books crafted as the books of old Libraries. This style of binding was common only for the books of the well to do. People of the Lower Classes of the time ( which most of us are still today) really could not afford such fine bindings during the centuries in which this style of book was produced.

At Witches Moon we wanted to bring this back for our customers. It is an Affordable design option for those who are unable to get those larger all leather books. These can be used as BOS or a Journal. Either way it is a totally unique Book and since they are affordable you can have an entire collection of your Magickal Works on your shelves creating a family Library!

These can be created in any colors you desire so if you do not see the color you desire here just let us know, we will be happy to create it for you. We can also change the paper cover to whatever paper you see in our marbled paper selections, you must let us know at time of purchase that you wish to change the colors to what you have selected, otherwise we will use whatever color is pictured.

Antique Brown Library Book

This wonderful Book is a reddish brown color on the leather
and features a brown, black and gold Waved Paper. It is sealed and
protected so the paper will not tear. The corners and spine are Leather.

Binding Styles:

All books (except the practical magick books) can either be hand bound or screw post bound:

Hand Bound: as seen here offers the strongest possible bond. This type of binding does not allow for the pages to be moved or added to unless it is sent back to do so. It does however offer longevity and a " oneness" about a BOS. This style of binding assures you that should it drop the pages will remain in tact and you will not loose any of your valuable work.

Screw Post Bound: This style of binding allows you to be able to remove and move pages around. This Style works well for those who like to print out pages or those who like to move pages around now and then. Though the pins used are strong & Our Screw Post system is strong so should you drop your book the pins will stay in tact as will the binding. it does make the pages very easily torn out of the book as you keep moving them around over & over, plus you can only expand the book only to as large as the spine is, meaning if you have a 3 " screw post you can only add 3 " of paper and no more, otherwise the book will not close correctly and you will risk damaging the spine. On the brighter side if you make a mistake you can easily remove the page and try again!

Be sure to check out our Book Accessories on our BOS page. There you can find, Blessing Bookmarks, book bags ( these are leather bags to be used to carry or protect your book when it is not in use, or the can even be used as purses. The Blessing ribbons can be customized for your book with your magickal name or one of our blessings or even a short phrase or spell. They also come with or without a tassel and can be either sewn or left loose in your book.

Extra Pages, Page Aging & Decoration

If you would like to add More pages to your book than what is listed with the book, please use the following price guidelines. You can simply add the extra pages to your cart along with your book.

Tea Dyed Paper Edges
This type of ageing allows the page edges to look wet & wrinkled. It gives that old look to your work before you begin. We age the page edges & some of the interior pages, This allows for the old look but will not interfere with your writing inks. This may also make your cover stand up a bit in some cases, meaning it will not close flat. Please note this type of ageing does take extra time to do.

Hand Torn Pages
This features basically takes the page edges torn. Kind of like water color paper edges
but a little more rough looking.

Gold, Silver & Copper Leafed Paper edges:

This allows for the paper edges to have Gold, Silver or Copper applied to them. The edges appear as they would in an Old Book. This feature was only used for the well to do books, those who would be owned by the rich. It really gives an extra pop to the page edges. ( please note we do not recommend this feature on page ageing or burning as both these techniques will ruin the gold detail)

This is the paper you will find within the front and back of your book. Please make two selections. This will allow us to not acquire any delays in your books construction as too often marbled papers can be out of stock. Please bare in mind these are hand made in other countries so there can be a delay if our supplier is out of stock. Picking two options, a back up choice if you will, lets us be sure your book is delivered in the time frame allotted.
