Non Leather Books of Shadows & Grimoires

Here we offer the same unique styling of our other Books of Shadows but made from other materials besides leather. We understand that not everyone wants a leather book & we wish to offer all materials available for all our customers needs. Below you will find books in Velvet, Faux Leather & Suede, Cloth & Many more. If you do not see a color or style you like please feel free to email us, almost all of our other books can be made from other materials so please let us know if a design from the leather books may be something you would like.

Also please remember that some of our other designs will not look the same on these books below as they do with the leather, since leather is more workable the details show more on a leather book than they will on say a velvet book. More styles are coming soon ! Also if you have a custom idea in mind please email us with the details.

 

Velvet Practical Magic Bos

This wonderful double book is close to the one in the 'Practical Magic' movie.
It is two books in one! There are 300 main pages, then the back flips open to
reveal 200 extra pages for ritual, spells, or whatever you desire! This is such a unique design. It is similar to the movie, only done in animal friendly velvet.  It does not have spine sashes. It is truly one of the most unique Books we offer.

Designed by Sabrina the ink Witch™  Exclusively for Witches Moon, These amazingly detailed pages can be purchased to add to your BOS. Each one was painstakingly hand drawn by Sabrina then scanned in using a high resolution scanner. These pages are so well done that the images seem to be alive on the page! Sabrina is very well know for her amazing artistic talent and has, for the first time, wanted to offer these fantastic pieces of Pagan Art for your BOS!  You will receive 10 page designs repeating on 100 pages throughout your BOS, (we simply print them on the color paper selected from your order) The pages are placed sporadically throughout the book to offer a more whimsical design.  Most are border pages with some half page designs as well. Each one will add a magickal feel to your BOS. Binding Styles:

All books can either be hand bound or screw post bound:

Hand Bound:
As seen here offers the strongest possible bond. This type of binding does not allow for the pages to be moved or added to unless it is sent back to do so. It does however offer longevity and a "oneness" about a BOS.  This style of binding assures you that should it drop the pages will remain in tact and you will not loose any of your valuable work.

Screw Post Bound:
This style of binding allows you to be able to remove and move pages around. This Style works well for those who like to print out pages or those who like to move pages around now and then. Though the pins used are strong & Our Screw Post system is strong so should you drop your book the pins will stay in tact as will the binding. There are some draw backs as well. It does make the pages very easily torn out of the book as you keep moving them around over & over, as it is with a loose leaf binder, we all had them in school and almost always needed those hole protectors to fix torn holes, plus you can only expand the book only to as large as the spine is, meaning if you have a 3 " screw post you can only add 3 " of paper and no more, otherwise the book will not close correctly and you will risk damaging the spine. The screws over time may become stripped and not work as well. Although this may never happen, we feel it is our place to let the customer be aware of all possible problems that may arise with any of our products. On the brighter side if you make a mistake you can easily remove the page and try again! Please be aware that is a bit challenging to use screw post binding on the practical magick BOS as it takes some fines on the users part to work with it.

Leather Strap& Belt Closures
These features allow for either a leather tie to close your book, (It will be of a matching color to your book unless you ask otherwise), or a belt type closure, also in a coordinating color and metal. ( please note that no two closures will be exact as we choose the most fitting one for your book, we use many recycled materials to create these so each one will be unique.

Tea Dyed Paper Edges
This type of aging allows the page edges to look wet & wrinkled. It gives that old look to your work before you begin. We age the page edges. This allows for the old look but will not interfere with your writing inks. This may also make your cover stand up a bit in some cases, meaning it will not close flat. Please note this type of aging does take extra time to do.

Hand Torn Pages
 This features makes the pages torn on the edges. Kind of like water color paper edges
but a little more rough looking. Pages will be uneven - this type of option is made to be so. It really looks great with aged paper.
Also, you will loose about .5 inch of each page.

(Please Note: Unfortunately, Hand Torn Pages & the Leafed Page Edging do not work well when combined.
You will need to select either Hand Torn Pages or Colored Page Edging, not both.)

Gold, Silver & Copper Leafed Paper edges:

This allows for the paper edges to have Gold, Silver, or Copper applied to them.  The edges appear as they would in an Old Book. This feature was only used for the well to do books, those who would be owned by the rich. It really gives an extra pop to the page edges. 

(Please Note: We do not recommend this feature on page aging as both this technique will ruin the Leafed Edging detail.)

This will allow us to not acquire any delays in your books construction as too often marbled papers can be out of stock. Please bare in mind these are hand made in other countries so there can be a delay if our supplier is out of stock. Book Blessing Book Ribbon:

These great ribbon book marks are hand made. They are made to carry a blessing to each and every book they adorn. They can be attached to your book or made to wrap two pages together loosely. Each one is unique and inscribed in a coordinating ink with Theban script. You can select one of our blessings below or send us your own. Simply write your blessing idea in the notes section of your order. You can also select a tassel at the end of your ribbon as well. Please keep in mind they can be made up to 36", the standard size is 28" for wrapped and 16" for attached.
